I might have to change this blog to ‘Movies By the Books’ some time, considering how little anime I’ve been watching! I -have- watched Eden of the East 11, which seemed a bit..unfinished. But that’s about it; still have lots of manga files to categorise and sort.

In any case, I got to watch (500) Days of Summer (vector fanart above) last last Thursday. I didn’t like it, for many of the reasons other people are raving about it. That’s not to say it isn’t a good movie. The next paragraph features me in full rant mode, so you might want to skip it…

Not much has been going on recently. Mainly busy with job, and the grind of the large mortar and pestle that is life.
I did watch G.I. Joe recently (okay, almost a month ago now. -wry-), though, courtesy of some sweet in-season passes from Contagious. Watched it on the day it opened, too. :)

(Picture courtesy of someone at somethingawful.com….) If I could compare it to one thing, that’d be…one of those simulator rides. You know, if you’ve been to a theme park with those. Dreamworld has a Batman one — Islands of Adventure had an awesome Spiderman one. Sadly-enough, G.I. Joe is more Batman than Spiderman.

Waha, one-month hiatus. XD I’ve been lazy…not just lazy but uber-lazy. I -have- been reading a lot of manga, though — the review for the three volumes below is just a small drop in the bucket. Anime..not so much, though niisama says the current season has been disappointing so far. :( (Then again that was when only three eps were out, so. :P)
I’m waiting for results before I open Photoshop CS again. :S (I.e. I’m getting to that banner, Jay-san and Materix!) It’s been getting colder here, but I really need to get a laptop cooler since my comp’s started to die upon overheating. T_T So even though it’s cold, I sometimes run a fan beside it to cool it down…poor fingers! Days like these, scarves as well as gloves are nice.

A rather-innocent picture by happoubi jin via danbooru. (Of a character from an -ahem- game..)
People who’re interested in shoujo may have a look at the manga below. Rather conventional, I must say. Continue Reading »

Hetalia is, as always, funny and good light watching. I know this post is laggy…I’ve been busy doing tutorials I can’t really wrap my brain around (bloody med chem). :( So due to stuffs, I’ll be blogging less frequently.

5: Stranded, beach, pasta. Italy gets up to antics on the beach, while marooned with Germany and Japan. Yaoi vibes between the other two Axis powers aside, Italy’s as cute as ever.

6: Long, piano, interlude. The Axis powers are still stranded on the beach, but they’re joined by everyone else…and notably Austria on a piano. ON THE SEA. Epic. XD This reminded me of Stairway to Heaven…I still wonder if they ruined a piano shooting that scene at the sea.
Some bits were just too funny not to screenshot, but due to program fault, my screenshots got shot into limbo. -_- Sigh.
On another note, niisama and I completed l4d on normal for hospital in 1h7min, up from about 1.5h the last time. :D I think I still like playing as zombie…there’s this kind of vicious joy in heckling the survivors; and I used to be scared of the hunter, but now I’m gunning him with my pistols (when playing normally). Yeahhhh.

The music for Guin Saga is epic. I think this is quite possibly the first time in a while I’ve heard an instrumental OP…which will probably get boring pretty quickly. -wry- Continue Reading »

The impression I’m getting from Polyphonica is rather academy-life; since it’s following the light novels, this is probably to be expected. I find it pretty interesting, though — maybe because I like the characters, even though Corticarte does seem pretty fierce sometimes. XD But I suppose that’s why she’s cute. Continue Reading »
