Eh? A post? Yes, I read this during lunch at 4pm, and was writing up a review for Goodreads, so thought I might’s well crosspost. Also, if you have a goodreads or shelfari account, do feel free to add me as a friend there! I’m always on the lookout of good books to read. :)

Speaking of good books, Book Depository has 10% off until Tuesday, 26th May 2009. That’s tomorrow! Get your buys in if you’re after books — I’ve found they always have a competitive price — just bought Inubaka 5, 7, and 11 at USD$8.55 each and pre-ordered Otomen 3 at $7.50 (post-discount prices). Have bought from them a bunch of times and have always had a positive experience — those prices are inclusive shipping, too! Woot. Alright. On to the review.

Crazy for Dogs, Vol. 8 (Inubaka: Crazy for Dogs) Inubaka: Crazy for Dogs, Vol. 8 by Yukiya Sakuragi
Rating: 5 of 5 stars
I love this series. The art is fantastic, the dogs are adorable — and Suguri is one of the most likeable people I’ve seen. (Okay, she’s also rather unrealistic, but hey. :P) In volume 8, a thunderstorm causes Lupin to run away (and get lost, though I thought dogs were supposed to have a good sense of smell…maybe the rain messed things up), and Suguri spends all her efforts on finding him.

Little touches here and there, like a scene on how Lupin was as a puppy (Adorable! puppy in her bag~), how Lupin smells like natto when he’s dirty (heh), the song (PSG! wonder how they sound..) Suguri makes for Lupin…all I’m upset about is that I read manga so fast! ^^ –>View all my reviews.

Lol, I look at that first picture and am suddenly reminded of that figure (via Sankaku, which is pretty much always nsfw). Aren’t you guys happy that picture isn’t up there?! :P

@Hen: Did they raise their prices? o.O It feels the same to me…but then I only started buying manga from there recently. How much did it use to be?

Average of $10 per book..still a good deal for me, since English licensed copies sell upward of $12AUD (and not everything is always in stock), and normal books skyrocket to $18 and up sometimes. :(

Hmm I think I’ll check this one out. So a trip to the farther away library is in order since I actually know where the manga is located there and the place near me kinda sucks in that area. The library is a friend when money isn’t growing out back. Also this would give me an excuse to check out that used bookstore too since I live in a crappy place where I’m deprived of things like more than two bookstores both of which I’ve had issues with.

I haven’t read the manga, but I’m glad you’re liking it. Unrealistic character, hm? People always say to create realistic characters. Sometimes, it surreal one is nice too, though. After all, that’s what fiction is about, isn’t it :)? Maybe…

@M12: True. But Suguri falls into the ‘too-nice-to-be-true’ category. Like Pollyanna — but then again I really liked Pollyanna too, sappy as it was, hehe..
