[*Whatever By The Books*]

The second episode truly pales in comparison to the epic fanservice of the previous ep. In fact, there’s hardly any fanservice at all…half the episode in, the only hint of boobies is an accidental, quickly-covered-up view of Tomoe’s.

To back up, Tomoe is the miko whose back we were treated to in ep 1’s preview for ep 2, and the character this episode focuses on. There’s a short segue at the start about Reina’s naivete when it comes to her parents helping the poor, where we also find out that Risty wants to fight to get ‘power and money’, to lift the orphanage she helps from the depths of poverty.

Tomoe, on the other hand, wants to fight in the Queen’s Blade to defend her country and some waffle about corruption in the bureaucracy. Unfortunately, the koma ninja seem to be against this…so against it that they turn into a toad monsuta to fight the miko. Since the monsuta is huge, the miko are disadvantaged…even when some of them perform this strange maneuver that takes off their clothes but raises a huge inferno. Sad.

Aside from the Miko formation, there wasn’t anything all that interesting in this ep…but at least the monster wasn’t excessively-gross, I suppose. -wry- The Sword in the Stone moment Tomoe had was reasonably-interesting, but I thought it was pretty sad all the other miko seemed to have been wiped out. Sigh.

Though it seems the preview mentions ‘Bakunyuu’ in the next ep…explosive breasts?! XD Haven’t we seen that in ep 1? :P

NOTE: I’ve cross-uploaded the screenshots to turboupload, since it seems someone either reported the boobies in QB to Picasa (I didn’t know they had a pornography policy ._. But ah well, my standard for ‘pornography’…>.>) or they caught on to it.
