Koukaku no Regios 8 - The Hug That Isn’t One
This picture of Shante is probably the only time in this ep when she actually looks kinda cool. XD In 8, Layfon has to fight someone who’s also from Grendan and has impressive earth-bishing skills. Layfon manages to block all of them, as well as ward off Goruneo’s fire partner (Shante) with an awesome whirlwind move. Incidentally, Goruneo (Gornio?) is the younger brother of one of the tenken candidates, Savaris Lukence (sp?). From Layfon’s reaction to the name, it seems he might have known that guy..read on for more summary/screenshot slideshow, or just visit el gallery.
In any case, while Gornio and Shante were busy whacking on Layfon, Nina and Sharnid went to grab the flag, and group 17 wins that match~ At the afterparty, Mifi sings karaoke, but Layfon emos and leaves.
Meanwhile, Felli meets Gornio and Shante, both of whom seem to have an axe to grind when it comes to Layfon. Back to Engrish…then Nina talking to Layfon. We realise that Nina’s happy about how they’ve been improving and winning, yet Layfon says he’s never been happy fighting, “because it’s pretty meaningless”.
At the start of the ep, Leerin met two strange guys (Tenken candidates) while on the roof (she was teleported there by one of them) — later on we discover that they are going to be her secret bodyguards, because they believe she’s been targeted (because of Layfon, for some reason?).
Teams 17 and 5 set off together to check out what’s happened to a Regios that’s in Zuellini’s path but has stopped and probably been attacked by monsutas. Nina recognises it as Gandweria (sp?), a Regios she’d fought against two years ago.
Ends on a bit of a cliffhanger…seems like we might find out why Layfon left Grendan/the crimes he committed in the next ep. I do think 8 was quite interesting, with some action. (While I initially thought the fight music was kinda weird, I like it now. XD) Shante (Chante?) does, however, annoy me. -_- Looking forward to seeing what Layfon did, that Gornio dislikes him so…
