Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou 2 - Snow Bunny

Alright, so I was gonna do Genji 2 today, but I’m too tired to finish watching it. ._. So I’ll blog on what I watched last night instead…Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou 2 was, like many other Natsume Yuujinchou eps, unexpectedly heartwrenching. I felt a bit like I’d been put through an emotional wringer — which made me remember why I’d stopped watching the first season in the first place. -wry- Gallery, or read on for slideshow+brief ep summary.

In this episode, Natsume gets to know Gen, a spirit who tries to possess him but ends up being shunted into a snow bunny Natsume made. In human-like form, Gen is a bishounen whose partner, Tsui, became a bitter, human-hating, destructively-evil spirit due to bitterness. He entreats Natsume to help him with her. Of course, it ends the usual way; Gen and Tsui disappear. But I don’t know why…maybe it was the sad story behind it; maybe it’s just the power of Natsume Yuujinchou. Maybe it was too early in the morning. Nonetheless, for whatever reason, I was moved by this one.
