[*Whatever By The Books*]

Koukaku no Regios (Chrome-shelled Regios) starts off with desert and electrical worms.

Layfon Alseif causes a stir when he quells a fight between two students in the martial group. After all, he’s just a normal student, not an elite martial group student. Or is he? One thing — the characters do have strange names. ._. Felli Loss? Sharnid Elipton? Nina Antalk? (Harley Sutton is pretty normal. XD)

It doesn’t seem like there’s an actual OP for this one…otherwise, it’s very very quiet. ._. The ED sounds pretty nice, but there’s no actual video sequence this ep. Will see how it is next ep. Gallery, or slideshow/disjointed thoughts about the ep–>

 The episode actually starts with something aside from the school bit — it starts with bug-like beasties attacking this…regios? It almost reminds me of a theme park ride, the screams, individual chairs, and sliding downwards. XD Maybe even the huge eye that made a hole in the vehicle and peered in. (Jurassic Park, anyone?) This is followed by a bunch of riders including one wearing brown bandages rather like a mummy coming to the rescue. But not before we’re treated to gratuitous shots of big bug-like beasties.

To tell the truth, I don’t care much about the big bugs. The music playing during the fighting is cool, but gets kinda distracting. Still, the fight sequences are pretty enjoyable to watch, and the art is definitely up-to-par. Will definitely be keeping an eye out for this one.

There’s also a mysterious loli ( with long hair…who’s quite surprising. “I’ll BEEP YOU!” is what she says to a hole when she’s annoyed. XD I wonder what her power is. Aside from having sakura aura and possibly psychic projection, that is..XD

The scene seems to alternate very quickly between school and actual fighting in the field; I’m guessing the latter is an extracurricular activity Layfon takes up, which would explain his fighting abilities. (Or it could all be just a dream. XD) Still, the transition between the two is kinda abrupt at the moment; we’ll have to see if it merges some time.
