I might have to change this blog to ‘Movies By the Books’ some time, considering how little anime I’ve been watching! I -have- watched Eden of the East 11, which seemed a bit..unfinished. But that’s about it; still have lots of manga files to categorise and sort.

In any case, I got to watch (500) Days of Summer (vector fanart above) last last Thursday. I didn’t like it, for many of the reasons other people are raving about it. That’s not to say it isn’t a good movie. The next paragraph features me in full rant mode, so you might want to skip it…

Not much has been going on recently. Mainly busy with job, and the grind of the large mortar and pestle that is life.
I did watch G.I. Joe recently (okay, almost a month ago now. -wry-), though, courtesy of some sweet in-season passes from Contagious. Watched it on the day it opened, too. :)

(Picture courtesy of someone at somethingawful.com….) If I could compare it to one thing, that’d be…one of those simulator rides. You know, if you’ve been to a theme park with those. Dreamworld has a Batman one — Islands of Adventure had an awesome Spiderman one. Sadly-enough, G.I. Joe is more Batman than Spiderman.

So much manga, so little time… Speaking of so much, so many drugs, so little time…anyone heard of a drug manga/oneshot? Not stuff like crack or pot, but pharmaceuticals?

This is the first time I’ve seen an otaku version of Lancer (artist unknown, speak up if you drew this nice piece), but when I searched Danbooru for ‘manga‘, I got a bunch of random and several very-H pictures. I suppose they came from manga. XD So the next thing was to search under ‘otaku‘…which I’ve done before, so many of the pictures weren’t new. This one did have lots of manga on the floor, though!
Imagine that much, and multiply it by a hundred. Maybe. And that’ll be how much I have on my computer. (I have about the same number on the floor of that picture on my ‘to read’ shelf in real life.) I’ve been singularly downloading like a maniac, and felt like posting today because I saw something funny.. Continue Reading »

Waha, one-month hiatus. XD I’ve been lazy…not just lazy but uber-lazy. I -have- been reading a lot of manga, though — the review for the three volumes below is just a small drop in the bucket. Anime..not so much, though niisama says the current season has been disappointing so far. :( (Then again that was when only three eps were out, so. :P)
I’m waiting for results before I open Photoshop CS again. :S (I.e. I’m getting to that banner, Jay-san and Materix!) It’s been getting colder here, but I really need to get a laptop cooler since my comp’s started to die upon overheating. T_T So even though it’s cold, I sometimes run a fan beside it to cool it down…poor fingers! Days like these, scarves as well as gloves are nice.

A rather-innocent picture by happoubi jin via danbooru. (Of a character from an -ahem- game..)
People who’re interested in shoujo may have a look at the manga below. Rather conventional, I must say. Continue Reading »

I’d actually written this last Wednesday, but only putting it up now…procrastination. Just came back from the preview of Terminator Salvation (aka Terminator 4) — and I just have to say, it was interesting, but it wasn’t as shiny as Star Trek (the last movie I watched, also thanks to the Contagious Network), nor were the characters as interesting.
Then again, the whole movie had a rather gritty feel to it, partly stemming from the fact that it’s a machine-dominated dystopia. Continue Reading »

At first, I thought, hrm, let’s read a bit of manga before I sleep and test tomorrow. But then I ended up reading all the volumes I had…lucky I didn’t have ten of them or something. -wry-

Eh? A post? Yes, I read this during lunch at 4pm, and was writing up a review for Goodreads, so thought I might’s well crosspost. Also, if you have a goodreads or shelfari account, do feel free to add me as a friend there! I’m always on the lookout of good books to read. :)
Speaking of good books, Book Depository has 10% off until Tuesday, 26th May 2009. That’s tomorrow! Get your buys in if you’re after books — I’ve found they always have a competitive price — just bought Inubaka 5, 7, and 11 at USD$8.55 each and pre-ordered Otomen 3 at $7.50 (post-discount prices). Have bought from them a bunch of times and have always had a positive experience — those prices are inclusive shipping, too! Woot. Alright. On to the review. Continue Reading »
